Why is this parameter needed?
Do I need to reset the server from time to time in order to get a stable service?

No you don't. But when players change all the setting by voting, like g_gametype, gamemod and so on, you have now the posibility to load a file named "server_reset.cfg" where you setup all the basic settings and your server will look like after you started it. The number you set in this CAVR is the time in hours the server will be reseted. If you set it to "0" then no reset will be done.

OK.. Tnx for the answer. I had to ask since I just can't get the server stable.
I'm running this 82.182.87.100 shottie server for Q3Ademo and 1.16 players in Sweden. Based on the 3xtra mod.
I'm also running this server 82.182.148.175 using the instagib+ mod.
The instagib+ works for months in a row but the 3xtra server needs to be restarted every second day.
I know this is the wrong thread to talk about bugs.. but what information can I provide in order to nail down this problem?

Which q3 version do u run and which operation system do u use. Maybe its a question of the hardware. I know that you can run 2x16 players q3 baseq3-x-tra on a 800 duron with 128mb memory and linux installed. What is the error message you get, how does it appear that you have to restart? I can only talk about myself, but the longest time it has run was 7 days the i updated the mod. But i have noticed that xt_stats = 1 or 2 can cause problems, if players connects at the wrong time then the stats system is messed up and the server can crash, but this happend on my server only one time. I'm working on a solution, but i haven't managed to reproduce this error again, maybe it was only an unlucky accident.

Sorry for not getting back to you, I've been out of town for a while. I'll test the new version right now.
82.182.87.100 will be using the new code.
The server machine is a AMD XP 2000+ with 512Mb memory running windows XP.. If it craches again I'll include a more detailed description.

I'm sorry to say that when i got home today the server was down.
The machine is a Athlon XP 2100+ with 256 meg of ram runnign Windows XP SP2 (Earlier i was wrong).

Hmm, sorry no idea what it can be, maybe you can send me the server.log. Is the blue console of the quake3.exe still opened, so that you can see what the last actions were? I hav only run my mod on a linux machine and on win98se, so i have no idea if it won't work together with win xp.

Ok.. great!
I'll try that version right away.
But just for the records. I was observing the server this weekend. and It seams like the craches happens just when the game is over.
One time the last console command was: Fraglimitreached
The other time the fraglimit was reached and the stats was printed out. then it crached.
I'll install the new version and continue to monitor.

Just started the server with the new code.
BTW. One other thing that's probably my fault. But I just can't get the bot skills right.
The mod always gives the bot skill 1 even though I specify: seta g_botskill 4 as you can see in my .cfg.
Any ideas?..

It's g_spskill that sets the bot skill when using bot_minplayers.

I was to fast in my prevoius post. Just a while after my post it crashed again.
But, now I've been running with "xt_stats = 0" for a coupple of days. And yes now the server is stable.
